Their bikes can be heard miles away, because they’re not just the ordinary bikes but bikes that create a spectacular scene when in motion or parked.
Lakeside Outriders Kenya (LSO Kenya), founded in 2015, is a motorcyle club in Western Kenya dedicated to charity and road safety having its main base in Kisumu. Its members are drawn from Kisumu (Headquarters Chapter), Mumias Chapter, Kericho Chapter and Elgon Chapter (Bungoma, Kitale and Eldoret). The Club boasts of proffesionals as riders from various fields e.g media, businessmen, leadership, healthcare, legal etc
“We strive to do more than just riding basically propagating charity for societal’s needs and promoting our collective socio – economic welfare” Dave Ngiri Odira says about their club’s vision.
Lakeside Outriders have done various adventure and exploratory rides including Rusinga Island, Kisii Highlands, Kericho Tea Fields, Coastal Kenya, Kenya’s capital city; Nairobi, Lake Elementaita, Lake Baringo and are currently planning a ride to Capetown, South Africa in September of this year. Sounds an expedition of its kind.
LSO Kenya aren’t just a self proclaimed biker club, they’re recognized by Motorcycle Kenya and have various partners including Coast Riders Club, 99ers Motorcycle Club Nairobi, MC Hotrods Kampala, Uganda Bikers Association, Galley Garage, Vivo Energy Kenya, Redbull, Hydropak Water, Jalil’s Grill, Barcadia Lounge, Dunga Hill Camp and are looking forward to establishing more partners as they expand their brand.
Some of the club’s past achievements include:
1. Visited Victory children’s home in Dunga
2. Dec last year the classy bikers joined with other groups in Nairobi to visit various children’s home in Rift Valley
3. They have supported Ksm basketball tournament by giving cash donations
4. One of their bikes christened “Black Widow” won 3rd place in last year’s concours motor show in Nrb
5. LSO have won an award from Autofest held in Ksm for best bike group
The team plans to engage in more charity events this year, work with more corporates & expand their branches to other parts of the Western region also partnering with like minded bikers across the Country.
Joining this amazing bikers club for gents requires that you have a motorbike that’s 250cc, ladies 160cc & above, have all the safety gears, insurance & a valid driving license also bearing the motorcycle stamp class. For those with foreign plates should have all the paper work valid.
They also offer riding classes for those who are interested. In addition, LSO offers escort services & have done several weddings before and also escorted Oliver Mtukudzi when he came for a performance at Acacia Premier Hotel.
