KisumuInsyder.Co.Ke caught up with Vaiyonce, a popular Kisumu lady working with the CIC Group to talk about her career at the organization and what she feels about commission jobs that many feel is not a starting point to your dream career.

She started as an assistant to the receptionist and says it’s the hard work and aggressiveness she had that earned her a promotion as a Unit Leader.

BUSINESS: THIS IS THE SHOP IN KISUMU THAT EVERYBODY MUST KNOW ABOUT

Having been named among the top performers at CIC, Violet Akinyi says in Insurance all that matters is your smartness to be able to sell policies and keep contact of your clients who might as well as also refer you for better deals. “There are those whose insurance commissions beat salaried people’s monthly income”

She has not yet decided if she is leaving insurance anytime soon because she believes her current job has given her almost all she needed after becoming a permanent employee from earning commission. “My job has opened a business for me which is now side husle, built me a personal house where I stay. I have also schooled my siblings, one graduated last year. Still from my same job, I’ve enrolled back to class. So Insurance pays” she says. She drives as well, still from her commissions from CIC that she says are competitive and only the smart survive and do well with them.

The daughter of a former manager at the Flamingo Group of Hotels in Mombasa says she has to give her job the best because she’s currently the breadwinner in her family being the first born in a family of five.

Vaiyonce is therefore the mark of prosperity to young graduates who would think from school is straight to six figure salaries. “You have to start somewhere and make yourself reach wherever you want to be”. She says revealing that she started her first job as a reception assistant at 22 and has grown steadily since then. “The more you wait for a good job the older and unproductive you become” she says.

She adds that her job inspires her a lot as it comes with all sorts of challenges that needs a good and upright thinking in order to maintain your perfomance. With her role model as the real madam boss, singer Akothee, Vaiyonce says she doesn’t emulate the singer’s public acts of attention but rather admires her confidence and hard work to make sure she is able to take care of everything she needs to take care of on her own – indepenency

Her plan at CIC is to be a regional manager or beyond with time, and also to be a business enterprise lady.

The lover of swimming also like to hang out during the day when free. Below are photos of the lady not waiting for anybody to give her what she feels she should have.

  1. Vaiyonce congratulations. You are one major reason as to why people should not complain of being jobless or broke. This is one of the best paying jobs in Kenya because your hard work, determination and not giving up is what pays you. Keep it up.
