After making headlines as the KES 1M birthday dad and also creating tension with his own rendition of the unknown ‘Patrick’ under a series of facebook posts, Daggy is not yet just done with Kisumu people and now seems to be getting into larger boundaries.
After also quitting his political ambition to be the next Migosi Ward MCA, the 29 year old father of one is now venturing into what many have been questioning its legitimacy. It’s now official that through his training as a public health professional, Daggy Owila has fully declared his interest and passion to fight for the LGBTI (Lesbians, Gay, Bi-Sexual, Trans gender and Intersex) health rights.

The rights he says he is interested in are the rights for these category of people to be able to access healthcare in public health institutions, arguing that there is a lot of phobia from these clique. Having carried out and continuing to train medical students in the KMTCs, he points that many nurses and doctors are not comfortable with attending to LGBTIs, and this makes them shy off the facilities.
He is therefore through his Third Race Medical Organization company, he wishes to make health facilities easily accessible and remove the stigma faced by the LGBTIs. Talking exclusively to Kisumu Insyder, Daggy revealed to us that these groups of people are not well taken care of because they are thought to be not part of normal sexual interests.
“That doesn’t matter if they choose it. It’s up to them to choose their sexuality but my interest is to have them be seen as normal people in public health centers. That’s my main concern right now. Not why they are what they have chosen to be” he said during the interview.
He also told the Kisumu Insyder that a lot is being done by other bodies like NASCOP, FHOK, LVCT, K-MET and other LGBTI Networks like NYARWEK, 3W, VOWWEK, MAAYGO amongst others in Western Kenya, and he is out to complement them. However, his direction is to create awareness of LGBTI health rights publicly with a louder voice, publicly and with a ground and online presence through mainstream media, blogs and vlogs.
The public can also support this initiative to enable it be run on mainstream media for public awareness with as little as KES 10 to MPESA paybill number 521293 to account name THIRDRACE
