This weekend’s friendly between football kingpins Gor Mahia and English side’s Hull City has really high stakes for a number of football fans.
Sportpesa CEO Ronald Karauri is willing to give up his KES 50M Range Rover just in case Kogallo loses to Hull City in the match scheduled for Sunday May 13th at Kasarani Stadium.
The unusual bet was settled between the Sportpesa CEO and popular Kalenjin comedian Kimutai Ruto of the famed Propesa comedy crew who, as per the agreement, will surrender his Toyota Probox incase Hull City loses to Gor Mahia.
This means if Gor wins, Robert Karauri will now be adding a Toyota Probox to his fleet of high end vehicles which includes a Mercedes Maybach S600, Bentley Continental GT, Rolls Royce, a Range Rover Overfinch and another Range Rover Sport.
The Saturday match comes as a result of Gor Mahia defeating their long-term league rivals AFC Leopards 5-4 on penalty shoot-outs at Afraha Stadium to comfortably land the much anticipated Hull City Challenge.
Kimutai confirmed the bet saying:
“Tulikaa chini na team yangu tukaamua tuweke Probox ya kampuni yangu.Tulibet mbele ya watu, akiwa hapo. Gor ikishinda Hull anaenda na Probox. But Hull ikichapa Gor hio Range Rover nachomoka nayo! Infact alikua atengeze video aweke in public hii bet but naskia alienda South Africa” Kimutai said.
Gor Mahia, who’ve won the title 16 times, are convinced that they will beat the visiting team.
As it appears now from the bet, the SportPesa CEO will be supporting Gor Mahia and hopes that the most successful Kenyan football club will carry the day and let him ride the probox home, otherwise, he will lose his OverFinch Range Rover to the comedian.
