Residents of a village in Homa Bay County have been left a startled lot after they woke up to the shock of an empty grave in one of the homes.
Locals at the Kouko village are yet to come to terms with the reason why anyone would exhume and steal the remains of a granny buried three years ago.
Helena Anyango, an elderly woman who died in 2015 was laid to rest om her husband’s home the same year.
Three years, later, unknown people have terrorized the grave, dug and stole the body, leaving the casket and the cloth the deceased was dressed in at the time of her burial.
The local Chief, Kennedy Okoko has since confirmed the incident saying that not a single arrest has been made of anyone suspected to have been linked to that shocking theft.
The chief however claims that they have identified some suspects in an almost similar incident that had happened a while back.
They suspect the group is the same one responsible for sneaking into the homestead and stealing the body, which he says they use the remains they steal for ritual and sorcery.
