The bodies of two campus students who drowned in River Yala while taking photos on Saturday have been retrieved.
Derrick Auka, a third-year student at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology [JOOUST] and Sharlette Atieno of Bondo Technical Training Institute, were on a scenic tour of the area before the tragedy.
The body of Sharlette was recovered on Tuesday afternoon while that of her boyfriend was retrieved on Wednesday morning.
Special divers from Bomet County were present to help fasten the search for the bodies.
According to their friends who were present during the incident, Sharlette slipped and fell into the river, her boyfriend drowned while attempting to save her.
