Eight rogue students of Ambira High School caught on camera insulting two Cabinet Secretaries will be remain in police custody till December 3.

This comes after the judge granted the prosecution’s request to have the eight held at Ugunja Police Station for a week to allow time for investigations.

They were on Monday morning arraigned at the Ukwala Law Courts in Siaya County.

The students who recorded themselves daringly insulting Education CS Amina Mohammed and her Interior counterpart Fred Matiang’i were arrested following social media outcry.

They also claimed to have cheated in the just concluded Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams.

The eight were arrested between November 23rd and 25th.

According to Ambira High School Principal Thomas Odhiambo, the viral clip was made by the students while they set their books ablaze in what they called “academic fire.”
