Close to a week after Gor Mahia’s Chairman Ambrose Rachier stunned football fans that the club was financially unable to travel to Angola for their next CAF fixture, the government has now sent an olive branch to the cash strapped football team.

Through the Ministry of Sports, Kogallo on Thursday Feb 8th received a huge back lift to aid their trip to Angola next week.

The club was handed air tickets to Angola to honour the CAF match and through the club’s treasurer Sally Bolo, Gor Mahia appreciated the support.

“It’s with great pleasure today as a club to receive government’s support – securing air tickets for the team to travel to Angola on 11th February 2019 to play a CAF group stage match against Atletico Petroleos,” sally noted

She added that they look forward to even more support from the government as the team continue to represent the country in more continental assignments.

The green army is set to take on Angola’s Petro de Luanda on Wednesday, 13th Feb at the Estadio 11 de Novembro from 7PM.
