Actors and film makers annually meet up at the Oscars not only to get feted but also showcase the elegance in fashion.
The 2019 Oscars Academy Awards saw celebrities bring out exquisite pieces of luxurious wear from their wardrobes.
Award winning actress Lupita Nyong’o and daughter to Kisumu’s second governor didn’t disappoint either.
She may not have made it to the 2019 Oscars red carpet, but the actress showed up in an award-worthy look as pretty as it was pricey, having donned the most stunning gown for the occasion
It’s unclear why the actress decided to skip this year’s red carpet, but she did attend the award show.
The 35-yr old wore a show-stopping one-shoulder Oscar de la Renta dress covered in white feathers that retails for $22,290 (approximately KES 2.2M) at the official designer’s website.
The dreamy, one-shouldered dress was straight off the runway from the fashion house’s Fall 2019 show at New York Fashion Week.
She wore the dress along with designer Roger Vivier sandals featuring bedazzled buckles costed at $1,000.
Lupita was estimated to have attended the fete with jewelery worth over $2M, making her among the top dressed celebrities at the event.
Here are the photos.
Nyong’o’s stylist Micaela Erlanger revealed that Lupita’s feathery look had to take a little bit of time, making the star arrive at the Dolby Theatre too late to pose with co-stars Michael B. Jordan, Chadwick Boseman and Angela Bassett on the red carpet.
While a number of attendees typically changed outfits after the awards show before heading to the after-parties, Lupita stayed in her feathered frock to ensure it got the mileage it deserved.
