Popular Kisumu entertainment spot Barcadia Lounge has been forced to temporarily close down in order to re-structure and probably make a come back, according to the club’s proprietor, Bob Onyango.
The CBD club which launched around 2010 has been at the helm as Kisumu’s top entertainment hub, being host to a number of events, DJs and performers.
Well, Mr. Onyango through a statement seen by KISUMUINSYDER.CO.KE has pointed out the reasons why he has been forced to reach to the decision of temporarily taking a break.
“Due to the recent cropping up of numerous new clubs and increase in competition and the exodus from Barcadia,
we the management have decided to close indefinitely to go back to the drawing board and do serious renovations and come back with new concepts that can keep up with the current trends”
Kisumu which is now facing a fierce competition in night life has led a number of clubs to make opulent renovations and introduce creative theme nights to keep up with the heat.
The birth of a downtown grill seems to have led to a massive migration of revelers and a few staff from Barcadia, slightly dimming its vibrance.
Mr. Onyango has however noted that Barcadia Lounge will continue to remain a force to reckon with in the Kisumu entertainment as all is not lost. The break is meant to renovate the facility and be able to compete favorably.
Barcadia apart from being a home to party animals and exclusive events was also part of a number of social activities including being a major sponsor of a popular soccer tournament in Kisumu.
The CEO has promised his fans a classier bounce back to cleverly give his competitors a run for their hard-earned money.
Here’s his full statement.
“Hello Barcadians, due to the recent cropping up of numerous new clubs and increase in competition and the exodus from Barcadia, we the management have decided to close indefinitely to go back to the drawing board and do serious renovations and come back with new concepts that can keep up with the current trends.

Daram is and will continue to remain a force to reckon with in the Kisumu entertainment scene and we shall ensure its legacy remains unscathed by the recent shift in popularity.
