Former TV queen Esther Adongo Arunga, 38, has been trending lately following her shocking revelation following the death of her son back in 2014.

Esther admitted to have lied to the Australian police about the death of Sinclair Timberlake to protect her husband.

She first narrated that the boy had fallen off the stairs, despite him having succumbed to fatal injuries caused by a blunt force to his abdomen.

She on Monday pleaded guilty to being an accessory to the boy’s death and that she misled the police to help her husband escape punishment.

She testified that they lost their son after her husband had attempted to perform an exorcism on their child.

According to Arunga, the child died after his father attempted “healing techniques” which included Quincy pressing down on the lad’s stomach and throwing him against a wall.

She is set to be sentenced on Thursday.

Arunga was unarguably one of the best of their time; well spoken, ambitious and charming in equal measure, a complete epitome of everything the Kenyan audience wanted in a media personality.

She doubled between news anchoring at KTN and presenting for Capital FM and for some time, Esther Arunga remained a household name in prime time TV news, however it wasn’t for long when she held the glory in her hands, the darling of the Kenyan media fraternity, began to loose the grip.

It all began In January 2009 when Arunga joined the Finger of God Church founded by violinist Joseph Hellon, a distant relative, where she met Wilson Malaba, an elder of the church, and became engaged to him, but the engagement was short-lived and was called off soon.

She then moved out of her parents’ house to begin a new life on her own and went to live in mansion owned by Hellons’ church, it’s at this point where she met Quincy Timberlake.

In February of the same year Quincy Timberlake was seized by presidential ambitions thus announcing the formation of the PlaCenta Party (Platinum Centralizer and Unionist Party of Kenya) led by Ester Arunga, Joseph Hellon and Quincy Timberlake. Arunga would serve as the deputy president.

What ensued the same day is Arunga handing over her resignation as a news anchor at KTN, she was later arrested alongside other members of their church that night, and charged with running an unregistered association.

Arunga and Timberlake say they underwent massive torture and isolation and even organized lawsuits against her parents for wrong imprisonment. She was released however, two days later and married Quincy Timberlake on March 2010, although he was still in police custody.

The Timberlakes left Kenya for Australia where they began a new life and Esther Arunga even acquired Australian citizenship.

She registered as a barrister at New South Wales Supreme Court.
