Irate villagers in a Kisumu village in Nyahera sub location on Saturday torched a house said to be belonging to a man suspected to have killed a form one student.
The incident occurred during the burial of Violet Atieno, the deceased, whose body was found under a culvert in a thicket in Nyahera.
Her mother Evaline Akeng’o claimed that the killing had been done within their village by somebody well known to them.
According to a statement allegedly recorded at a Kisumu Police Station by the local administration, the deceased was reported to be an abnormal child, claims harshly disputed by the agitated mother.
None of the local administrators from the area attended the burial, none of them either was available for any explanation.
The North Kisumu location Chief Peter Nyange abruptly ended a communication from our editorial desk seeking to find more about the Saturday incident.
Until her demise the 14-year-old girl was a form one student at St. Antony Dago Kokore Secondary School, Kisumu.
